yep, here in Amarillo, Tx gonna get hairy. Wind gusts up to 60mph and predicting up to 12 inches of snow. good thing about Tx though is it will hang around till late mon. and then be gone.
Just hope my furnace doesn't go out, electricity doesn't quit on me, and my septic don't back up on me. Just got the septic fixed, furnace man walked me thru doing a reset on the furrnace by phone because the electricity flickered couple wks. ago and that knocked the furnace out. Then, computer got p o'd had to take that into shop.
Let's see what I'm in for now.........my life is one series of horrors..LOL

We are not in the path of a blizzard but are in the path for rain, turning to freezing rain tonight, a wintry mix, more freezing rain & it's suppose to finish with snow. I'm just hoping our power does not go out. It's too cold & takes too long to get it back on when this happens. We got hit with an ice storm Thanksgiving weekend & now this Christmas weekend. We just got the mess cleaned up from Thanksgiving weekend since it's been nice here since then until now.
Stay Safe Jaxs Mom. The only place I have ever lived that got snow like that was when we lived in Newfoundland Canada.
DH is outside right now making sure our generator works. He's going to let it run 20-30 mins. He has to go get more gas in case we need it before this stuff moves in.

It was almost 70 yesterday so we are not in the path, fortunately.

We have extra batteries, flashlights, important phone numbers written down (electric co., gas co. etc) coolers with dry ice, cell phones fully charged, extra blankets, battery operated weather radio. We don't live in Texas or New Mexico, but have plenty of ice and winter weather issues. Praying for everyone in the path of this storm.

I woke up to about a foot of snow in the upper Midwest this morning. More coming. I had to throw myself against the back toor to get it open enough to let puppy out. I don't see myself venturing out anywhere today. Scariest hour of my life was driving in a blinding blizzard. Take care if you're in the area where blizzarding is expected. And, thanks, @JustJazzmom for posting the excellent link!

staying home till Tues. Husband doesn't have to go back till Tues. so don't have to worry about him getting stranded. We just have to buckle down and pray for the best.
all areas take their turns.

For all of you in the path of this storm stay safe and keep warm.
What a strange winter it's been so far. I love in snow country in the U.P. Of Michigan and as of today we barely have a dusting of snow on the ground. I'm not complaining I love it. Just hoping the temps don't dip real low because we have no snow pack to help keep the pipes from freezing.
