@Tinkrbl44   You can still get Evening in Paris at the Vermont Country Store.  Remember Tabu?  I remember the sales ladies in one department store all wearing this.  I remember this picture for Tabu.

Re: Who Can Still Remember..........

In New York where I was born and raised our favorite five and ten cent stores were named, Woolworth's Five and Ten Cent Store.  And yes, a counter where you could order ice cream, malted milk shakes, etc, etc..  Those were the days my friend, those were the days!!!

Memories...

@GrailSeeker

"Number Please"...that was me when my first job out of high school was as a telephone operator.  I still vividly remember being trained, two of us side by side with the instructor and when we were ready we sat at the looooong board side by side and all day long plugging into those small holes and asking, "Number Please"?

@Mom in NY ...Hi neighbor, I lived in Richmond Hill, Queens and had friends in Flushing, went there often, small world considering I have been 3,000 miles from NY since 1965, CA and now AZ.

Re: Who Can Still Remember..........

@jlkz: I remember Woolworth's! But, my first job was at a five & dime store called Kresege's. I, too, was a sophomore in high school and worked part time as a cashier, sometimes at the candy counter. Yum!
