Bridges of Madison County makes me cry. I think it's the soundtrack.

I have them both and was thinking one and posting the other. Oh heavens, give me one of Scotties blue drinks. Geesh {#emotions_dlg.lol}

Exactly. No one can hear you, and if your eyes are all red, you just pretend you got soap/shampoo in them lol

The ONLY movie I couldn't compose myself in was "The Passion of the Christ"..I had to leave and haven't ever watched the whole movie...

Many others make me cry but not like that...

Just watching the previews made me cry. I wanted to see it but just couldn't. Now, there's the new movie with another great looking Jesus. I don't think there's many people it doesn't make cry.

I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but when Biblical scholars saw the movie, they said it was gratuitously violent - over the top for theatrical reasons - not true to history.

Thank you terrier. Yes, it does help, imo.

Re: When you need a GOOD CRY...........

Gosh there are so many movies that have made me cry, some when I didn't expect it.

A River Runs Through It

Schindler's List

Pay It Forward

I Am Sam

P.S. I Love You

Bambi

E.T.

Pearl Harbor

The Longest Day

Saving Private Ryan

When Saving Private Ryan came out it was about a month after the 54th Anniversary of D-Day. I was living in Denver and a reporter for the paper was doing a story about WWII Veterans that were alive and arranged for a private screening for all of them. They invited my dad because this same reporter had done an article on my dad 4 years earlier when we went back to Normandy for the actual 50th Anniversary. Sitting in that enormous theater surrounded by WWII Veterans of all military branches, knowing all had been there and participated was extremely humbling. Many of the Veterans brought their family like my dad brought me and my mom. Both my mother and I pretty much started sobbing from the opening scenes to the final scene of Ryan at the cemetery and the closing scene of the American Flag. {#emotions_dlg.crying} The theater was quiet as a church through the movie, all you could hear were the occasional sobs from some women, and people blowing their noses, but most of the Veterans were stoic. At the end of the movie all the Veterans stood and applauded, and it is one of the most touching moments of my life. I've viewed the movie several times since then over the years, and it always makes me cry, but I'll never forget that first time viewing it and what an honor it was to be surrounded by all those Veterans, many I am sure are no longer alive.

The Jessica Long story profiled on the Olympics was quite good and a tear jerker.
