Do you collect shells, or stones or anything else and use for crafting?
It's raining here again/yet, and I want to think of sun, water (not rain) and crafts, things to do on a rainy day.
What do you do?

Yes the beach is rejuvenating ....I enjoy the water and breathe the fresh air....get a little vitamin D and go home refreshed and renewed. If it is a vacation day, love the beach! I'm usually at work, but if at home on a rainy day and have choices other than work nothing better than a good book or making some yummy treat in the dehydrator! Or I might spent some time in the sauna (a loving gift) with a body brush and eucalyptus oil or do some rebounding/tai chi/yoga/meditate. I'd enjoy having the time to really dig in to clean house and afterwards have a cup of tea and quiet time ( a fire if a chilly day). I love rainy days...they inspire me.

No, I don't. I'm not in to crafting. I enjoy the sun, the waves and the salt air. I have a friend who is constantly collecting shells and sand dollars that she puts in baskets and gives to her dog sitter, mail collector, etc. I find it kind of odd to think that someone would want a memento of my vacation though.

I never get tired of looking for treasures from the ocean....Given a choice between spending the day in Tiffany's or the beach, I'll take the beach!

I go shelling at the beach (or rather I used to) but I'm not into crafts and don't use them for that. I buy glass vases and fill them with my favorite shell (usually Olives) and keep them in my bathroom and I have one at work. I also have a lamp in my bedroom that is hollow and glass that can be filled and It is also full of Olive shells.
I rarely look for them anymore. I have hundreds and have throw hundreds away and I've even sold bags of them at garage sales. I don't have any more room for another vase or bowl of shells.

i am not a crafter, but i do have a few bowls and baskets filled with shells to use as decoration. i am at the beach regularly this time of the year, but no longer look for shells. i love sitting on the beach, taking a nap on the beach, walking on the beach, and being in the ocean.

I have lived on the bayshore of NJ for 39 years and have never been to either of the two beaches that we are smack in the middle of!

If I find an interesting shell or a piece of sea glass, I'll pick it up. I don't really make crafts with them.
I do have a large shell that I keep on the window sill above the kitchen sink. I put my rings in there.

When I was at the Outer Banks a few years ago, in a gift shop I noticed some cute Christmas ornaments made of shells and tiny Christmas items glued on. I thought, heck, I can do this, and I did. Everyone got one for Christmas that year. And I am not particularly crafty, but this was so easy, all I need was a glue gun, shells, ribbon, and tiny decorations.

Remember the flower picking thread?
I have picked flowers and got sea shells. Oh and also pinecones...
