Little paper drink umbrellas. When I was a little kid my grandparents would allow me to get a Shirley Temple when we visited their supper club. Very fancy dress up time. Grenadine and marachino cherries! And a paper umbrella to take home with me. Good times...

@SloopJohnB My dad used to like an old time chocolate candy bar made by Necco...It was the SkyBar... It had 4 sections with different fillings. It originally came out in the 30's...
Occassionally I see one at restaurants that have a quaint gift shop with old time candy....

@Mombo1 That's a great memory. 🍫. I remember my dad telling me that also in the 30's, 3 Musketeers bars were originally 3 pieces, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry in one package. Similar candy!

I recently saw strawberry milk in small bottles at the grocery store and it brought back memories of flavored straws in chocolate and strawberry that my mother would get us to drink milk with. I loved the strawberry!

@SloopJohnB What a flashback memory! Somehow my dad found that 3 piece Musketeers candy bar...this was back in the early 60's and shared it with us 3 kids. Not sure if it was a regional thing for availability....this was back in western pa. Never saw them again.

@SloopJohnB True hence the name.
It was the rising cost of sugar that removed the vanilla and strawberry flavors, leaving only the chocolate as we know the candy today.
It rising cost of sugar happened because of WWII.

@Porcelain Yes, interesting, right? I'm glad they kept it chocolate, though. They are probably my favorite. 🍫
