No, I don't think I can.  Wish I could though.

I'm not sure if you can make a quick judgement, but I do believe people have a face that says yes or a face that says no.

There are those who don't seem to have a working conscience. Things like guilt and shame have no impact on them to the degree that they can lie and pass a lie detector test. Some of these are sociopaths and they are narcissistic enough that if guilt does register within them, they quickly deflect it off onto others. If you don't yet know their history, you could be taken in by them temporarily ... until you learn the hard way that all their flattery and ardent attentions was pure bull. Building you up to knock you down. Many are quite attractive, on the surface and use this to their advantage. Looks can be so very deceiving.

If someone is working overtime to impress you or to earn your trust, chances are they're untrustworthy. Frauds of one type or another.

Interesting question, @ShowMe and replies in this topic.

I know I have thought to myself more than once, “oh, I don’t like the look of him or her.” Shifty-eyes, grimacing mouth, peculiar behavior, etc. Some severe mental illnesses are very obvious and some people are just grouches- and it shows! But none of this necessarily makes them untrustworthy or dangerous. It's not as easy to identify a real life villain as it is in the movies or TV shows unfortunately, and I think that's where a lot of my preconceptions stem from. Not knowing many of these or actual con men in my real life, thankfully!

In many of the cases with mass shooters and other violent crimes, even family and neighbors are shocked by their actions.

I learn about people through their consistent behaviors over a period of time. At least inasmuch as they reveal. How they treat others, as well as me. Are they users, back-stabbers, two-faced, dishonest, gossipers? Do they put others down while trying to build themselves up? Drama queens that enjoy sowing seeds of division? Non-inclusive snobs under the delusion that they're above most. Hostile types with the permanent chip on their shoulder.. I would trust none of these types enough to befriend them. I try to give most everyone (excluding scammers and such) the benefit of the doubt, until I see a clear reason not to- regardless of what they look like.

I'm not omniscient. Only God can see and properly judge a soul on sight alone. I gladly leave the task to Him.
