@Pandalady wrote:@SandySparkles I joined in 2011 to primarily comment on the Pet Forum. I met so many sweet posters in there. Since I watched Y & R at the time, I began to comment some in there. I clicked with wonderful posters in there ( including @SharkE ). Although there were differences of opinion back then, it seemed that posters seemed to work it out, at least that was my experience. I stopped watching the show and now mainly post elsewhere.
Now, I wish that topics could be discussed with differences of opinions accepted without some feeling like they have to tear others down. There are fabulously wonderful posters here, both long time and new, who I enjoy so much. It is because of those sweet posters (including you. @SandySparkles, @SportyShorty07 ). There are so many others, too. That is why I have continued to come here for the past 13 years.

I joined in July of 2005...it's funny that I remember the month & year. Back then it was much more active and the boards moved much faster.
There were many more posters and some had very strong personalities and there were many heated debates. Some were bullies but most of them are long gone.
I remember how active some of the forums were. There was a Judith Ripka board and many posters became friendly. Some even got together to go to Judith's store in NYC to meet her...more than once.
I was pretty active on the crafting board. At the time (around 2008-2011) it was a lot of fun with posters exchanging some scrapbooking supplies like ribbons, stickers and various embellishments. We also had a card exchange going on where we would make cards and mail them to each other. There were quite a few of us participating.
At one point the Q decided to revamp the boards and the crafting board was eliminated. At that point we started a different board but then many went over to FB and a lot of what we had was phased out. Scrapbooking as a popular hobby has died out a lot to begin with but was very popular back then.
It was such a different vibe back then.

@Venezia wrote:I honestly don't remember the year, but it was way before 2010. When they revamped the forums that year, they reset pretty much everyone to that month and year, no explanation of why.
They also wiped out a lot of the posts I'd made, so the count isn't even right.
What I remember about the forums, when I joined way back was the exchange of information. Posters would alert others to things like jewelry that had gone on really low clearance prices.
Or someone would find a piece of jewelry (Robert Lee Morris followers were good at this) that had "gotten lost" in the QVC vaults and post the item number. I have some beautiful RLM items because of that.
I found a set of 3 silver RLM bangles for a knock-down price. I didn't wear bangles much, but knew others loved them, so posted the item numbers, which made others happy to snap them up.
Mostly I remember that it was a kinder place. Others can disagree, but that's my experience. Posters loved to help others out. Some now think it's too "bland". Well, I'll take that over the alternative.
@Venezia Welcome!๐ฅฐ I APPRECIATE your post for pointing out the POSITIVE prior use of the forums!! Thanks to wonderful posters like @Sillimee and others, I see MANY recommendations, pertaining to nutrition, beauty, health etc.โค. That information has been invaluable to me!๐ I too, WELCOME all positivity,โจโจ but understand that life is not ALWAYS positive, so opposing respectful perspectives are always welcome also!!โค๐

I began watching QVC in 2005. My first time watching QVC I was sitting in a spa-type bathtub at a hotel in College Station Tx while visiting in order to get my daughter situated in an apt there.
When I returned home...I couldn't wait to get to the computer to order something I had seen!
Of course, while on the computer I discovered the forums!
One of the differences I tend to notice is that over the approximately 20 year time frame, people's use of the forum seems to have become lighter...messsges are shorter and more "to the point".
Its kind of a shame in some ways because it used to seem that "forum chat" has become briefer when at first it seemed that women were enjoying it just like they might have done if they were talking to a friend on the phone.
Kind of "neighborly-like"!
I often think to check here for the latest on storms and such...hoping the people here are all ok.
And it's still great to discuss fashion ... others reviews.
Also, I appreciate the posters who give their opinions about the latest tv streaming episodes and movies.
Funny story: I was an empty-nester (kind of feeling a little sorry for myself about it) and it was Christmas Eve.
I figured the forum would be shut down and I was clinging to the hope that it would remain open. It did!
There was a lady who ran a bar in New Orleans who told a tale about her rough life and how she was very scared! It was like having our own suspense-filled crime story going on while we chatted!
The forums had to log off at midnight... there was a band of us that were clinging to a few words at the stroke of midnight!
@LTT1 Welcome!๐ฅฐ I shed a few happy tears as I read your BEAUTIFULโค post of GRATITUDE and caring!๐! It wrapped a bow around my heart to see you so eloquently express what the Forums have meant to you, and how they once were!๐๐ฅฐ I had NO idea.๐
THANK you SO much for caring to share your touching, heart-hugging story with us this evening!โค I am certain MANY posters will appreciate it!๐ค

As far as changed....in the short amount of time I have been here, it basically has been the same for me. Only hiccup really was that my nic had been taken down....don't know if someone reported me or what. Apparently someone found it offensive? Go figure..... It was the American flag with one blue line in the stripes. Police related.
@SloopJohnB Welcome!๐ฅฐ WOW! I am sorry that you lost your previous nicโค, but GLAD that you did NOT allow it to deter you from returning, and enjoying all the Forums have to offer.โค THANKFULLY, you are still here interacting with us!๐ฅฐ

@Pandalady Thank you very much for your kind words! You're so sweet- I enjoy your posts too and I like that we're both fun-sized heights!
It is a joy to look through QVC's forums each day, and I'm very grateful for the QVC forums because they're full of such supportive, kind and fun people!

I am a newbie compared to so many of you. I joined in October 2023. I had no idea this forum even existed and found it by accident. I don't use Facebook or any other social media so am not accustomed to this but found it interesting. With that being said, I also find it somewhat shocking as to how some of these women talk to one another. There are a couple in particular that I honestly don't know how they still have posting privileges.
What you think is a benign topic suddenly becomes filled with nastiness and goes off topic for what seems like no reason. I can usually see it coming a mile away so I prefer to stay away from those volatile subjects when I feel like they're heading south and/or into "poofland."
