Re: What would you do if you won the Powerball jackpot?

Pay off any debt of ours, specific family members and our dearest friends (who are like family to us). There are some people we know who have had Life dump on them in such a way that it has altered  them is multiple ways; we would take on any burden they have and make sure they had money to take care of their needs going forward. Beyond that, trusts and investments so we could live off the interest and never touch it....nor our children. Since we would all have targets on our backs, how we lived wouldn't change abruptly but instead, in subtle and slow ways.

Boring but safe.

Re: What would you do if you won the Powerball jackpot?

I never buy tickets and think winning would cause me more problems than I've ever known.

BUT, if I did win I would hire  a car and driver 24/7.

Then I would purchase a small but nice apartment in NYC with elevators in a good neighborhood.

The rest of the money I would spend to search every where and all over the world for ex racing Greyhounds who needed to be rescued and bring them all to huge, modern, comfortable, kennels where I would look for loving families to adopt them.

With the remaining money, I would set up a foundation to continue rescue and adoptions after I died.

Re: What would you do if you won the Powerball jackpot?

That amount of money just boggles the mind!  I can't even wrap my head around it.  It would involve professional help to handle it, that's for sure.  No way could a simple, every day person or persons need or ever spend that amount of money.

I know my use of some of the money would be very simple and elementary to start off, really.

First of all, I would help out a couple of my family members and make sure that they would be taken care of for life.

I would want to procure a different home for DH and I.  In a nicer area.  A place that has a bit of ground around it but near to everything we need and want.  I'd get DH and I new  cars, which we both need.  Nothing fancy or large.

Of course, since DH and I are elderly, I would want to obtain help for us regarding caring for the home, landscaping, cooking, cleaning, etc.

I would have the people that I hired help me set up various accounts for things that I want to support such as help for elderly, children, animals, etc.

I always thought I would want to travel --- our country and the world.  But the way things are now, I don't know about that any more.

As I said, I would just want to make a secure life for DH and I for as long as we lived.  And the rest would help immediate family and a couple friends.  And the remainder to various charitable causes.

I would buy 2 large ranches and start a animal sanctuary for neglected and abused animals.  One ranch in the northern part of the country and the other in the southern part.
