It sure is fun to dream!!! It is an obscene amount of money that we would be spreading around after our immediate family (my mother, children, and grandchildren) were taken care of. Among our wish list would be (in no particular order)...the homeless and the hungry, animals, women's shelters, veteran's issues, cancer research, dementia research, children's diseases research...things like this.
What about you? What are your dreams for this?

First thing: Call our tax lady and account. It is all about the IRS.

What wouldn't I do.
Give some away to favorite, vetted charities. And to loved ones.
Then....go have a ball...travel for sure.
Buy a decked out RV and travel the U.S.
And buy a few homes in favorite places.

I actually would hope and dream not to win it.
It involves making life and trust and decisions more complicated than I would ever want.

Find the best accountant!
Take of my immediate needs, retire for sure
Take care of my elders, immediate family
Donate to several charities, schools, and college scholarship at my church
That's a start.

I would help my family and friends, all of whom have been there for me with support and love. I have several charities I donate to and of course would give to each one for all the good they do.

Obscene is right but I would be happy to have it!!! First, hire qualified financial people. Second, sit on the money until my euphoria settled. Then, I would make sure my kids all had the homes they wanted. I would have my oceanfront home. I would "adopt" several homeless families and house them. Put away the rest.

I agree life would become more complicated than I could imagine.

I'll never win because I never buy lottery cards. But if I did, I'm guessing I'd do the same as many others - taxes come off the top, then family (homes, education funds), a sizable chunk to a particular mission/charity we support, a big family vacation, many some special vacays for DH & I, maybe some redecorating. 🤷♀️
