Okay, this just struck me as really funny, LOL! I wonder if the OP meant it as a joke? Haha, too absurd to be serious.

I have no problem adding to inane topics lol!
It keeps me sane.
I don't know why but I don't like "yup!" One of my children and I think my sister uses it.
I guess it just sounds kind of dismissive or rude to me (so you can tell I'm a dinosaur too!).
Yep just sounds like someone is distracted or bored with the whole conversation.
On the other hand I don't mind yeah, but I usually say yes.
I wonder if it is different parts of the country, or generations or maybe just how we were taught to speak esp growing up.
I had a wonderful, but very strict 7th grade English teacher and a mother who had and has a huge Random House? dictionary on a wooden stand at a place of honor in the living room. She would never tell us what a word meant or how to spell it. We had to look it up.
But I liked using it. It is still on a big stand in her living room now
She still looks words up but I usually beat her to it by looking it up on my phone. And now I know why my son and so many would keep looking at his phone-to look things up! To find information.
What is fun to read is the Urban dictionary (online of course).
And I"m proud to say I actually have a word in the urban dictionary.😄👏 It was submitted by my daughter.
(I won't tell you what it is, cause tmi!)
You can tell who amoung us think this kind of thread is fun or interesting and those who really don't and never the twain shall meet! but that's ok

I like "yeppers" used in texting.

Yes, me too. "Yeppers" sounds funny so makes me smile.

Geeesh, unbelievable the trivial things people whine about. Yup sure is!
03-25-2020 08:26 AM
Yep, I say it all the time.
