Hi Noel (and All)
What a fun thread to read. Not sure if we will do anything special or not but I do want to wish all who truly celebrate a great Happy St. Pat's Day !
I, too, remember the lovely Irish shows on the Q back "in the day". I have some very nice items from those shows and treasure them all.

I am an Irish lass as my grandmother used to call me....
The Irish cake was served in our home once a week on Sunday's. My grandmother (who was from Dublin) always said it was more of a bread than a cake. She lived with us my entire childhood so she had some wonderful stories about Ireland and growing up on a farm.
I hope everyone has a wonderful St. Patrick's Day.....in our home it is the same as a National Holiday and we enjoy celebrating with a dinner out. (my corned beef and cabbage leaves something to be desired)
SR, have you noticed that so many of us Celtic types fall in with each other?
We do like fun!
Well, you Irish Lass, I wish you a very Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I'm loving this thread and the fun Celtic ladies!
Thank you for the Colcannon recipe, Noel. I'm going to make this! Sounds yummy.

All these are posts are so enjoyable to read I would like to tell you a little story I have friends who are had family from Ireland so they consider them selves 100+% Irish and they are really close family every holiday they travel from different states to be together. Their Dad passed away and after the funeral they went to the liquor store and bought different kinds of Irish whiskey for their Dads wake. They were very close to their parents and now both are gone. So now every time these grown adult kids get together they hold another wake for their parents and sit around and remiss about all the good times they had growing up. They start start their party with a shot of Irish whiskey and have a good time together.

I'm not Irish, but I am on Saint Paddy's Day. This year I'm making Irish potato soup and soda bread and I'll watch any parades that are on TV this weekend. Can't wait for the Irish to come Q.

I love that picture! I have it on a decorated backing from Michael's. I bought it a couple of years ago and put it on the mantel for St. Pat's Day
