Interesting dialog - thank for sharing

Some that have experienced family issues and tragedies have found a way to live productive lives. They aren't stuck in the past and don't continue to impact others in a destructive hurtful manner.

Definitely how much I miss her.  I also think about how protective of me she was, especially when it came to boys.  She packed heat and wasn't afraid to let a boy know!

Re: What's The First Thing...

Like you, I don't have good memories of my mother & every time I read others talking about their mums, I realise what I missed.  It obviously affected my own parenting, because that was all I knew.  So, you're not alone.  Such a shame!

Re: What's The First Thing...

We were riding in the car (day trip) 2 days ago, and I started talking about mom.  She was so funny and she's deeply missed.  But I was just cracking up remembering the funny things she did.  It felt so good to remember the funny things she did and laughing.  My husband knew her too, and he was smiling and chuckling along too.  It's good to leave people with fun memories.  She passed from ovarian cancer in 2011.

How much I love and miss her and wish I could see her again and hug her.

That she was a generous lady. She never went to anyone's house without having something in her hand!

Re: What's The First Thing...

@nana59 , My mom died when I was 10. I was raised by my dad. It was just the two of us. All only children Their parents had already died also. My dad died 30 years ago. My hus's parent have also passed. We have one  child. (Sorry for my rambling). I always have missed my parents. As I grow old I miss them more. Would give anything just to hug them for a minute.
