What I don't understand - if you don't eat meat and want to stop someplace to eat why would anyone stop at Burger King for a meatless patty on a roll?

Maybe like our family of four there’s only one person who doesn’t eat meat, and the rest of us want to stop at Burger King. Also their vegetarian burgers are really very good

I’m downright shocked at how people commenting in this thread are so incapable of understanding the purpose of this product. This product is not made for vegetarians, it’s made for meat eaters who may want to steer toward a vegetarian lifestyle. Frankenmeat? It’s a veggie burger, folks. Take away the words they use to name it, and it’s a VEGGIE BURGER, FOLKS. It’s all natural, including the substance created to give it a meat colored look. It’s vegetables in a different form and people are like, “ew, no, gross!” How old are some of you?

@MaryLamb

The All Natural Veggie Burger consists of:

Soy Protein Concentrate

Coconut Oil

Sunflower Oil

2% or less Potato Protein and Soy Protein Isolate

There are other ingredients that don't resemble veggies at all, and quite frankly, the list above is a far cry from the veggies I put on my plate every day.

Yeah, I think a soy protein concentrate and oil burger is pretty gross.

@QueenDanceALot  You’re right. Grinding up plants, vegetables, beans and oils is pretty gross. It’s much less gross to murder a living creature, tear the flesh from its rotting carcass, cook it up and digest it.

@MaryLamb

Earlier I said that both are gross.

IMO, there are much better options out there for veggie burgers.  But if you like the soy and oil burger, well,

Bon appetit!

@QueenDanceALot  Soy and oil are protein and fat, except they are natural protein and fat. Do you not think real meat has protein and fat in it?

@MaryLamb

Why are you asking me this question?  What does it have to do with what I said?

Of course meat has protein and fat in it.  And it is also "natural" protein and fat.

All I said was that I think both are gross.

Are you looking for an argument about something?

Yep. It is what humans are designed to do. Science. Biology. Kill it. Eat it.

Re: What makes "Impossible Meat" look like meat.

@QueenDanceALot Whether something is gross is entirely relative to the observer. Folks need to agree to disagree.

That said, I love veggie burgers, but find the 'impossible meat' ingredients a bit offputting.  Not because it's gross, to me, but because it's not a very nuritious alternative.

I, for one, don't  want to have soy disguised as meat, when the only addition to it is oils and a (red) burger tasting juice.  I want added mushrooms, black beans, peppers, brown rice, etc.  Some healthy additions.

I'll give the IM a try, but regardless of the described 'wonderful taste,' I'll stick with the traditional veggie burger.

The problem how I see it is that we have increasing population and decreasing space to grow food the long slow way nature intended.Scientists must find a way to create food that is ready fast and at a low cost to feed the people.

Human bodies have not evolved to be able to digest and use man made food. It leads to disease and death. This is not a good, low cost solution.
