The best time was in a pick up truck, a twin mattress in the back, traveling up the AlCan highway from Washington State to the Inside Passage taking a ferry on up and reading to each other James Michener's Alaska.  I cooked on the tailgate.  The scenery was majestic.  The only awful part were the many outhouses.

When my kids were small it was tent camping, later tent trailer.  I once cooked a 5 course Chinese dinner from scratch on a remote river bank for a crowd out of that tiny tent trailer.  That for me was fun.

I've always enjoyed sitting around a night time outdoor fire with something good to drink and good company makes it a delight.  The daytime roughing it is more for other people, give me a good book and a spot in the warm sun.

The kind who stays home!  I’ve never been interested in spending the night in the woods.

Love nature - hiking - canoe - watching others fish - picnics - exploring. Also love sleeping in a clean bed and taking a shower after being in the great outdoors. I did enjoy girl scouts and cabins.

My idea of roughing it is slow room service.  My parents were not campers and neither am I.  They liked all the amenities.
