Re: What is with the censorship?

I think some posters are more apt to complain about posts they don't like and others just ignore things they don't like and the people that complain more to the moderators get things taken down.

Good point. Didn't the OP say she was banned from the HSN forums?  I don't remember why, but that should give a person a clue that one must abide by the standards set by a community chat board or risk being banned from participation.

I don't buy into the paranoia that some posters have an "in" with the moderators.  Everyone and I mean everyone has a post poofed at some point.  Don't take it personally.  Just move on and don't obssess on why yours was banned and another person's was not.

It isn't paranioia by some posters about the 'in' folks. They exist. And it isn't about why 'my' post gets deleted, it is about why 'theirs' never do.

"raining"  said she had a friend who was a mod here.  All she had to do was put in a call, and posts would be deleted.

I totally understand that this is the Q's board and therefore it's their call as to what is allowed. I also understand that we agree to it. Regardless, by the very definition of the word, it's censorship.

We'll just have to disagree.

Please name at least one person here who has NEVER had a post deleted.  If you are convinced "theirs never do", then you have to have some sort of basis for that statement.

Why do people complain, though, about things they've agreed to? Waste of time and energy IMO.

That I can't answer Pearlee. My guess from reading this thread is they're frustrated at the lack of consistency which leads to confusion.

My only point was that, whether one thinks of it as censorship or not, that's exactly what it is.

I'm not even remotely obsessed enough to know who has had which posts deleted when and where. What I do know it that on many threads in the past, the same few people are allowed to name call, belittle, demean, mock and bully the small group that disagrees with their view. They team up, and have quite a wonderful time patting each other on the back, brag about what they get away with, and when another poster calls them out for their behavior, that poster's contributions are taken down instead.

The first to come to mind are the ever occuring vaccine threads.
