Hi @Forum_Friends   Woman Happy

Am Curious

Does any one happen to know what this animal is?

I've never seen an animal like this before.  Altho, I'm not really familiar with a lot of outdoor animals.

TIA  (Thanks In Advance)

Hi@Teddixat

Oh.  The only thing I know abt them is a customarily laughable characteristic said of their slow moving (I think)

I thought sloths were same color all over.

Thanks.  Gonna look this up.  Im curious.  Strange looking.

Hi  @Puggywuggy

I thought sloths were the same color all over  ?brown.

This animal's face looks like it mated with an odd faced raccoon.

@JoyFilled Warrior   They also come in gray tones and interestingly enough,  I have read that they can appear to have

a green cast from some of the plants they eat. This also serves as a camouflage while in the trees.

@JoyFilled Warrior :

"Of the two families of sloths found in Costa Rica, Bradypus variegatus (Three-fingered sloth) is the more familiar to most people. Hair is gray/brown with a darker face, white forehead and raccoon-like band around the eyes. The hair on the head tends to form a fringe that frames the forehead."

Hii @Puggywuggy

Wow.  Well, if they're as slow as I thought rumor said, they'd need more camouflage, Im guessing.  But green from plants they eat sure is interesting camouflage!

@Venezia

Interesting.

I used to watch Zoo TV programs, like NY Zoo?  San Diego Zoo? on the Animal channel, when I seemed to find more time.  Was very very enlightening!

Dont remember seeing anything there like this sloth.  If so, curious why.

"No offense "Mr/Mrs/Ms Sloth'".  But you ARE kinda cute, (in an odd way).
