It's a vicious circle: Her fans feel like they have to defend her when the people who don't like her criticize her, & the people who don't like her feel like they have to point out all of her shortcomings whenever her fans praise her.

People pick apart Shawn all the time too. I happen to enjoy her quirky personality and sense of style. She doesn't take herself too seriously and seems to have a light and fun loving spirit.

Lisa.....I can understand somewhat. But Shawn just seems like a sweetheart to me.

I think it's because if you don't care for someone, you have no interest in wasting your time discussing them. If you're jealous, however; you've got some issues and on some level it makes you feel better to keep trashing them in endless threads.

It's true that when a person is disliked they are avoided in real life but when they host shows that a person would like to watch it cause annoyance and that's what's behind a lot of the nasty comments.

A lot like a disliked neighbor blocking one's driveway.

Patty Reilly was disliked and lots of posts were about her, both pro and con but since she's gone no one is posting about her anymore.
