I like Lisa R and yet usually order from the internet. All those folks are too good at getting me to order. I have great respect for their selling skills!

I haven't gotten junk from QVC (to refer to an earlier post). I have gotten a good deal on good products, and excellent cs when there was a problem.

I heard someone diss the product on QVC once, Steve Bryant, when I was first watching and kind of fascinated by interactive TV (which is what shopping channels are). I was taking care of my dad at the time (housebound with Alzheimer's) and doing the night shift.

And there was Steve Bryant, whose assignment (should he choose to accept it) was to sell really strange clearance items at 2-4 AM. It was a sculptural piece going for a fraction of the original price, a kind of weird wall piece, and it was made of barbed wire. He got through that presentation all smoothly.

Then there was the next piece. It was a "Loon flute" which was a flute to call loons. He looked at it, thought a moment, and said (on air) "My career is over!" Then he started selling the Loon flute, noting that there was a little plastic house for the thing, "when you don't feel like playing your loon flute."

I loved the old QVC; as a viewer I've regretted that they only sell sure things these days. But they used to sell the weirdest stuff, and as I watched mainly in the early AM in those years taking care of dad, I saw scads of totally weird products.

Kathy Levine would also draw the line occasionally. I loved the jeweltry show, which had been going on for half an hour, in which a new item appeared and she said, "Oh, now, this is actually pretty!"

I swear, people today would _complain_ if she didn't hawk the thing as if it were the holy grail.

Googled it -- her name was Judy Crowell. She worked at HSN then QVC. She was married to a cute guy host for a while... Googled again -- she was married to a Jeff from HSN (the one I remember), and she was married to a Paul at QVC. No, not at the same time.

Jeffrey Hewson was a host on QVC many years ago. He was married to Judy Crowell for a very brief time while they were both at QVC. I read sometime ago that Jeffrey suffered a stroke and no current information can be found on him on the Internet. He was a handsome man and an excellent salesperson with a great personality.

Someone started a thread over in Beauty Banter about Lisa getting married....that it's on FB. I don't use FB so wouldn't have the foggiest idea. I'm sure that will stir up lots of chatter. People have opinions on everything she wears and uses, so for sure a fiance will come under the microscope... poor bugger. ${#emotions_dlg.laugh}$
