No doubt some of them go to their outlet stores.

Whenever QVC sells beds, I have to wonder, what do they do with them if a customer decides to return it?

They have outlet stores?

I would think outlet, pallets online or "as is". They can't sell them as "new" anymore.

What about undergarments like Carol Wior, Spanx, Breezies, etc.? Most department stores won't accept returns of undergarments or bathing suits.

I don't know about the Q but, unfortunately, it appears that HSN lets them get back to the warehouse. I received a beauty product a few weeks ago and it had no seal on the cap. When I opened it the inner seal had a hole poked in it as if someone wanted to try a little. Grossed me out!

Used to shop at the outlet in DE a lot when my son was at UD and they had many items that were repackaged (lots of clear tape, box tops torn or missing). They never suggested that they were "New" but "unused", yes. Same as Best Buy, etc "Open Box" policy. They also sell "on-air demos" that way.
I bought lots (too many) dolls, bears, jewelry at great bargains there. As for make-up, fragrance, haircare, etc, they would sell unopened single items that were originally part of a package set that had been returned.

I'd assume the policies follow the procedures dictated by law and by competition. In any department store, I can find garments that have been purchased, returned, and returned to the sales racks. State laws prohibit resale of some items. so other arrangements need to be made for those items - beauty, pharmaceutical, undergarments, etc.
I do wish all employees made a sincere effort to follow company policies regarding checking returns, but they don't. Not in brick and mortar stores and not in the more anonymous warehouses such as QVC, Amazon, etc.
