Subway to remove azodicarbonamide from their bread!!!

This is great news because many others will follow their lead. Besides being a carcinogen, it negatively reacts with potassium bromate, another ingredient that the FDA allows in bread but banned by many other countries. For example, Potassium bromate is thought to cause red angiomas on the skin.

Re: Subway to remove azodicarbonamide from their bread!!!

When heated during baking, potassium bromate turns into bromide and becomes dangerous to the body. While the baking industry is trying to limit its use of potassium bromate, it is counterproductive to continue using azodiacarboandmide because it inhibits the reduction of potassium bromate and actually elevates residues.
