@Natureluvr I don't know what you are interested in, but there is a series by Janet Evanovich that starts with One For The Money.
They are easy to read with recurring characters & they are fun.
If I am having trouble finding something that I want to read, I go to this series.

@SportyShorty07 wrote:@Shanus That's really great that you do watercolor painting too! I love watching the watercolor apint move unexpectedly in the puddles of water- its fun to watch the colors bleed into eachother or crate their own channels and lines of paint with the water.
@SportyShorty07 The most difficult thing to learn is to keep the pigment where you want it to stay and how much water to use. I'm about 6 months into it and have taken several classes and sometimes get so frustrated.
I'm using what I call "Big Girl Paper"....the expensive blocks of paper with only 15-20 sheets! I've started cutting them in half or quarters or using painter's tape to separate the page in case I mess up.

@Natureluvr Somewhere we got off track since you asked what WE do.
I keep journals and write every day...even if just a sentence what I'm feeling or have planned for my day. Sometimes it eases my mind to see stress is just a part of life especially in today's world and it will pass.

I find jigsaw puzzles to be very relaxing. I like the smaller, 350 or 500 piece ones from Dollar Tree. They do not take up as much space as the larger ones. They have a nice selection of pictures too.
I can work them on the other half of our kitchen table and still have enough room on the other half for us to dine.

@Shanus You're so right about keeping pigment where you want it and figuring out how much water to use- it takes time to learn. You're 6 months in and you're giving it your all and that's what matters because art is all about learning new skills and doing your best while creating something beautiful. I love that phrase- "big girl paper"
- I have a lot of that too. I really like the Winsor Newton sketch pads and I also like to cut down sheets so that I can make smaller paintings.

@SportyShorty07 I busted loose and purchased two blocks of Arches paper. Whoa, big move. They're still sitting on my table waiting for me to be brave.

In the summer a walk in the park is helpful. In the winter I like to turn on the fireplace while reading a book and sipping on hot chocolate.
