No no no! It was peanuts in an RC. About as disgusting as anything I can think of. Where I grew up that was not common but I have seen people do it. Everybody was poor there and I guess for some that was a treat.

But it was always RC. I have tried an RC back then, but thought they were awful and never finished one. Even worse then Pepsi!

I can't for the life of me see why anyone would do this, but I also think that, unless you're using a straw, it presents a choking hazard.

Totally Southern. Coke and peanuts and RC and Moon Pie. Never cared to mix my nuts in my coke. It would ruin my life. LOL

Never heard of any hillbilly I grew up with choking on it. Must be genetic. LOL!!!!

@Sooner Instead, it was Moon Pie and RC in my youth. We did the Coke ( or Pepsi) and peanuts combo. While I am showing my age, we also put crushed potato chips on baloney sandwiches.

It has been many years.

@IamMrsG OH thanks for the recipe! I never did that. I haven't had a bologna sandwich in about 6 months and it's time for another one. On good white bread. With good mayo! What chips? Ruffels? My favorite of all time!
