Yep, it’s been around. Remember Barbara Mandrell’s song, “I was country when country wasn’t cool”. There’s a line in the song about slipping peanuts in my coke.

I never heard of it and my Dad was from GA. However, I can how it's gives that "salty sweet" taste.

This was really popular back in the 50s and 60s. I remember trying it and thought it was wonderful....seems like the peanuts made the Coke "fizz" quite a bit and also gave the Coke a salty/peanut taste. It was good stuff back then....what goes around comes around!
