What did you give up for Lent?

This should be a fairly innocuous discussion.  What did you give up for Lent?  I'm Jewish so I didn't give up anything. lol

LOL.  We observe Lent but don't give anything up.

Hi Deb:  I gave up nothing.   I think folks should focus on their own personal spiritual and earthly growth rather than hope that giving up candy gives them an "in" with "Him".

I gave up giving up anything. I support those who find the process relevant, it's just not what I need to embrace spirit.

I gave up chocolate and have been pretty good about it.  Cheated a couple times, shame on me.  Of course, being Catholic, Sundays don't count.  Hooray!   Do Protestants observe that way?

OP, you're Jewish, so I'll just wish you a Happy Spring.........enjoy!

I gave up nothing but have walked 2 miles daily on my treadmill as part of a personal sacrifice.

The Pope said that, besides making a sacrifice, we should try to be nice and helpful to one another.  I gave up candy, and I'm working on his other request.

I don't think giving up something for Lent is typically Protestant, at least not for my denomination.

But I respect those who do, it's a wonderful tradition.

Ice cream and pretzels, and for me this is BIG.
