What about snowbirds returning home?

Are snowbirds, particularly in Florida, going to stay put? If they are driving, some will have to make a stop at a hotel because of the long drive. If they are flying, well, you know how they are advising against that. I find it interesting Florida is asking people going into the state from certain states to quarantine when it's Florida that was late to issue shelter in place orders and will soon have a mass exodus of snowbirds.

Well, if any of those snowbirds live in NY, NJ, DE or Pa, they are SOL.  Boarders are closed except for essential workers.

The state borders are not closed but there is an advisory to avoid all unnecessary travel for the 30-day period. I wouldn't think that  returning home is considered unnecessary.

However, the border between the US and Canada is closed except for essential travel (trade, commerce, etc.).

Spoiler

@JJsMom  I was wondering about that myself. How many states will these folks drive through on the way home.

I see the Gov. has decided that churches now are essential.  The pastor who was arrested earlier this week will probably start having them again.

@JJsMom , I live on Cape Cod and they have asked people with second /vacation homes to stay away. There is even a petition to close the two bridges leading to the Cape.

Anyone coming to Ohio from another state has to self-quarantine for 14 days,

Travel should have been stopped, except for emergencies and commerce, a month ago. Those beach going spring breakers have disbursed the virus throughout the country infecting untold numbers.

Spoiler

I just checked PA's stay at home order for what is allowed.  Travel to a primary residence from an outside jurisdiction is allowed.
