@Travone ..... I thought the governor said yesterday that request did not go into effect until Monday.

We have many still here who drive home. Mostly are older and did not want to chance driving, staying at hotels, etc.
This brings up a good point. If a snowbird would need to stop at a hotel on the drive home, what would they do instead?

Usually I'd be back home in WA right about now, but we are staying put in AZ indefinitely:/
There's no way we could drive straight through like we might have done when we were young and crazy.

I live in So. Florida and most of the snowbirds in my community are still here. Shopping is a nightmare. The roads are not as crowded now so not as many car accidents.

Not true for PA. Our boarders are not closed and it is considered ok for all residents to cross state boarders to go home.
The police are not stopping anyone.
@Carmie @Mz iMac. Has anyone seen a road block at any state line stopping cars? I think that info is incorrect. My sister drives into NJ all the time and she hasn't been stopped.
@Mz iMac. What is the source of your information?

Yes some hotels are open. I don't think being "open" it's more of 1) is the room thoroughly sanitized 2) delays on the roads - most rest stops are closed (as reported by truckers) 3) restaurants - more closed only take out and 4) is it worth it if you're already "safe" and most likely have food & essentials.
More importantly, you'll have to self quarantine again & will food/essentials be readily available. (Most snowbirds plan to be away 5-6 months and clear out fridge/pantries before they leave)
These are the questions I'd ask myself!

@Mz iMac wrote:@tsavorite Yes really. The states I mentioned, some were done sooner than others. I am in So. Joisey a tri-state. All bridges are closed. Only opened to essential workers.
As reported by our local news.....mayors of beach communities have "ordered" folks staying in their 2nd homes to leave because they are taking up the valuable resources for the year round residents.
FWIW, in Philly, if you are NOT following the 6 ft safe distancing, you will be fined hundreds of dollars.
@Mz iMac .... I’d like to know what bridges are closed in South Jersey ???

I have not seen anything because I haven't gone out and right now I don't have a car...mine was totaled. I have one I could use in the garage, but I just gave up.
I spoke to my police officer son yesterday. He said they are not stopping anyone, nor permitting them from driving to and from PA.
I know the Delaware Memorial Bridge between Delaware and N.J. is open to traffic. You must have an EZ pass because they are not accepting cash. If you do not, they will send you a bill in the mail, no additional fees will be added.
