Last night, on a whim, I bought a Christmas present for my Spot and Boo Boo: a 5' long blue and white crinkle tunnel. Knowing them as I do, I suspected they'd turn up their disdainful little whiskers but instead, they surprised me by being intensely interested.

It's so much fun to watch them approach it so cautiously, then as they get used to it and convince themselves it won't eat them, they carefully stick a head inside. It's as though they think, if I can get my head in without getting hurt, everything's safe, though their big furry bottoms are highly visible.

I had another nice surprise, too. One of the most popular radio stations in the Puget Sound area is 97.3 KIRO FM and one of their most popular on-air personalities is Dave Ross, -- awho shares the microphone with Luke Burbank from 9 am to noon, Moonday through Friday.

I was shopping in a kitchen supply shop at a local mall and noticed standing not 5 feel from me a gentleman who looked familiar. I sidled up to him and asked quietly, since I didn't want to cause a disturbance, Excuse me, are you who I think you are? He gave a quirky smile and said, "It depends on who you think I am--so who do you think I am?"

I told him "I think you're Dave Ross" and he laughed and was very gracious. We chatted for a moment and that was that.. It's nice to meet a semi-famous person who is just as nice in personal as his on-air personality.

I had a very nice day and I hope you all do, too.
