This is getting really ridiculous. Posters blaming those following the standards instead of owning up to their behavior.

Take it up with the mods instead of those who are posting respectfully, Irshgrl.

If somebody wants to start other threads they could and can.

So start other celebratory threads.

Instead of filling this one with "what ifs".

But this celebratory thread is in a mess now imho.

Just to be clear that we are talking about the same thing are you talking about an opinion thread or a celebratory thread?

If it is a celebratory thread then there should be no debate.  If it is a debate thread then opposing opinions should be expected.

I see what was posted MGM, it is just absolutely so unfair and I am in agreement with this decision. She was told start another thread because it isn't allowed here yet when she claims she will start another thread she is told that will be open for debate. So one is open for debate, but one absolutely is not. If you do not see a problem with this perhaps you will on a different thread where the same thing happens but you are on the differing side. Yes, I get their board their rules, that is completely fine but at least distribute the rules evenly. You cannot allow debates on one and not on another. Well I suppose you can in a tyrannical sort of way but reasonable adults will eventually get bored of not being allowed to express their opinions in a reasonable manner.

So what is the opposite of a celebratory thread that is bemoaning the fact that we  now are including everyone for marriage?

Cause that wouldn't be open for debate.  I just don't think such a thing exists.  The mods made it clear what this thread was about, it was fine for hours and now has turned into a hot mess

Don't talk to her in a condescening manner. You know she understands what Britanny posted but it makes no sense when one is open for debate and the other is not. This board has been about lively debate and I have no problem blocking someone who is completely out of control but this isn't the case here. I mean perhaps you are that obtuse and will only understand when the same thing happens to a thread you wish to offer a differing opinion on and aren't allowed yet you also aren't allowed to open one of your own because that one is completely open for debate.
