Some of you may wind up rethinking issues if your state like mine basically legalized marijuana.  Stores selling it are almost on every corner now.

They are being robbed daily, people are being shot in the robberies, and growers are legally growing weed but also illegally shipping it out of state on the black market and the authorities are not able to shut that down yet.

Also, drug cartels and the violence and human trafficking that comes with them are setting up shop the state.  This is going to change a lot of things around here.  And endanger a lot more people.

And it's probably coming to your state too if similar laws are enacted.

@Sooner

I'm sure most States have laws against human trafficking.  Drug Cartels, well they have laws against them too.  You know the FBI and the CIA did a lot with taxpayer money to halt organized crime, because that's against the law too.  Sex work is illegal, purchasing guns from other states, buying marijuana from other states (including alcohol and tobacco) and taking it across state lines are federal crimes.

Crime isn't new in America.  It just looks different.  It's still part of our human condition.

Where the heck do you live? We've had recreational marijuana here for a few years and have never, ever had a problem with a dispensary. No robberies, no cartels, nothing like what you describe.

I live .5 miles from one. No issues here except one incident across the state where thieves tried to rob one at 4am.  They all have armed guards.during operating hours, not sure about when they're closed.

They are built like Ft. Knox.  If managed correctly, dispensaries aren't a problem.

And if we actually enforced ALL our laws, crime would be much less of a problem all around.

Just imagine how faith could be restored if laws were enforced for EVERYONE who breaks them.

@JamandBread We have never had problems like this until recently.  It came in with the legilazation.  I also think a lot of our issues are centered around the fact that I-35 and I-40 cross in Oklahoma City.

I-35 is the locus of a lot of crime in recent years.  It is a major artery for drug trade and this has made it worse.  A lot of issues are coming up from the south in recent times.  And this is very new to what was a really quiet state.

@Isobel Archer  Here you go again-always twisting other ppl's word.  I did NOT say the laws need to be enforced. I said dispensaries need to be MANAGED properly. Two entirely different things.

Yes and then I said "And" if we enforced the laws, crime would be less of a problem.  That's adding another idea.  Try to read carefully.
