Our kitties have never been fond of their carriers.
What surprised me was the last time we had to evacuate because of fire the kitties walked calmly into their carriers and waited quietly by the door for us to leave. They knew there was a problem and that they were being taken care of.
We now keep one carrier in the front hall tucked behind a closet door so we can leave quickly. We would shove all three in one if we had to, even though one is 25 lbs.
We find that Temptations are like a drug for them, it is what we lure them when we need to cut their claws.

I have tried this and it worked: Tip the cage up so the door is facing the ceiling. Gently wrap the kiitty in a towel/blanket With head showing (of course) then gently shove kitty in cage head first while slowly tipping the cage back to proper position and closing the door.

yeah, ours has become er..."brown" many times...in protest!
Same here! She goes in easily enough, but on the way my "Perfect Princess Poppy" does BOTH in the carrier, howling all the while! Every.Single.Time. Once, it was so bad by the time we got to the vet (seriously, the carrier looked like she had fingerpainted the walls with the mess) that I felt awful and sent flowers the next day!

I just put the kitty in the carrier when we have to go to the vet. I've never had an issue with the cats going in there.
One of our cats flips the door open and goes in there to sleep. So funny.

Funny how they immediately grow 8 extra legs & of course, TONS of hair will fall out because of nerves. Well...maybe a little bit of my hair, as well.
So stresses me out to see my Kitten Cat unhappy.

If we take one cat to the vet for something, we have to take the other as well otherwise we spend the next 2-3 days with one cat hissing and spitting at the other until the smell from the vet wears off. Thankfully they're very healthy cats and don't have to go to the vet often.Oh my, that is what mine do and I don't know what to do. I can't seem to take them both at the same time. They are a nightmare to get in the boxes. They howl at the top of their lungs. So one howls the other runs and hides. It's a losing battle. I don't want those few days of tension when I take them separately either so I have been procrastinating. Ugh. I wonder if there is some kind of spray that will eliminate that vet stink off them.

I have no issue with Rick now, but did when he was younger. I'd get him in there, but we'd wrestle. I'd put the carrier out a couple days before and he'd jump in and out if it.

We used to have one of those hard plastic carriers with the metal gate type closure? Well they are useless to get the cats in. We used to fuss and have to try to push the cats in while they hissed and scratched, and we felt bad and it was horrible!
SO now, we now have a vented duffle bag type cat carrier that the cats go in with no problem at all and it just zips closed. So much nicer and easy that it doesn't even faze the cats!

I don't have an official carrier. Miss Kitty loves cardboard boxes (imagine that
)
I have a Kitty sized box that I cut a hole in the side just big enough to provide ventilation and so she can see out.
She willingly gets in the box, I tape the lid shut and away we go. I put the roll of tape in my purse in case I need fresh for the trip home.
She cries some in the car, but not too bad. She is a good girl
