That's a cool story! So often people are very demanding and critical without taking into consideration the hard circumstances service people may be working under. Service jobs in restaurants and elsewhere can be hugely stressful -- with very low monetary returns. I've often read that you can judge a person's true character by how they treat people they encounter in inferior/service roles -- and I think it's true. These generous tippers come across as a class act. And the blessings will come back around as good Karma.

I think it was a kind, caring, thoughtful act. I can see myself looking at the waiter's situation and leaving our usual 20% tip but not $100. So, they did a lovely thing and then they ruined it by posting the receipt and seeking publicity, attention and pats on the back and maybe even 60 seconds of face time on local news.

Very understanding of them to do so. Why show it on Facebook though?

They probably posted it on facebook so that more people would do the same.I was just at a wedding where the service was so slow come to find out they were short staffed.I felt so bad for the server at our table because there were a few ignorant people. When i left towards the end of wedding i handed him a tip(probably not supposed to do that)but this kid was young and working so hard his face was so flushed.I told him he was doing a good job considering.I can't believe how others treated him so ignorant and they were not the young couples that gave him a hard time also.

Nice couple. I'm glad they posted it - maybe some will think twice before giving a waitperson a hard time. It isn't an easy job under the best of circumstances.
Why not just enjoy a nice story for a change?

This was very nice. However, in the local paper, maybe they should have put the owner's name and manager's name, too. Because where were they? Unless they were in the back cooking (which they could have been) they should have been busting it out on the floor. Then each person would have only have had 4 tables to take care of. Makes me furious to have others standing and watching someone work their hardest.
