I called my Allstate agent to inquire about this. This is coverage if anyone steals your identity, possible getting medical tests in your name for example. The insurance will cover you up til $25,000 if you need to hire a lawyer to fight any charges. I figured $40 wasn't a lot of money to spend to have a little piece of mind.

Good decision, @Jordan2. I recently bought similar coverage and am glad to have it, just in case.

I looked into LifeLock but a lot of recent reviews are negative, mostly involving inability to get in touch with them if you have questions or problems. I'm looking into other services which might be better.

@nomless, I was looking into Identity Force and Identity Guard as well as LifeLock. I think Identity Force was rated highly.

It may come in handy. Nothing wrong with it if your interested in it.

I live in Ok & because of the drilling it's causing earthquakes so we bought earthquake insurance. We probably won't ever need it but we now have it if we do. I think it's $30 per yr.

@viva923 I have a sincere question and am not trying to be a smarty pants....why is Lifelock advising you to monitor your accounts daily if you have purchased their service? I might not understand what service they are providing but I always thought they were being paid to watch out for those things for you?

Or are you paying for something else?

I need to look into something like that but have no problem admitting now I am a bit confused about what service I would be purchasing. Smiley Embarassed

Does everyone know that the IRS for some inexplicable reason gave a 7.5 no bid contract to Equifax to give that agency info about us?  😡

@tansy  Not sure I understand.  The IRS is paying Equifax to give the IRS info about us?  Like what?  Why?  And why does the IRS have to pay for it?

@tansy  -  That is an intrguing statment. I listen to Coast2CoastAM and they talk about things like this all the time - BUT, I've not heard this mentioned.

@sandraskates,  Coast to Coast radio isn't a news source.   It's entertainment and opinion, sometimes even compensated endorsements presented as interviews with so-called "experts."   In the past they've even been known to pay "actors" (fake callers) to be the callers to the shows to artificially promote desired opinions.

Hey there @dooBdoo

When the show starts they run some of the top news stories of the day for about 5 - 10 minutes; that's where I thought this story would have been mentioned.

Most of the time I fall asleep within the first hour but I have a subscription because I like some of the motivational guests that come on.
