My house also has an open floor plan. The kitchen looks into the dining room which merges into the living room.
I have 14 foot ceilings with pot shelves on the three walls of the kitchen. The cabinets are medium oak with black knobs. Two pendant lamps are over the bar area. The counters are a deep green granite with some black and gold veining. My sink is black quartz.
The walls in the kitchen are a creamy purple called Wisteria. One wall has a pantry with double doors. I did a light wash of silver glaze over the purple on that wall. The pantry doors are off white.
Appliances are black glass. The floor is a very light gray tile which carries through the dining room and living room.

Green- Our kitchen has dark green counters with oak cabinets. Our walls in the kitchen (and the dining room which connects as one big open space) are a pretty pastel Spring green.

You have Royal Palace rugs in your kitchen?
We obviously have very different families, LOL! The kitten alone would destroy them. This morning she very carefully took all of her dry food out of her bowl and stacked it in a pyramid in the middle of the kitchen floor for DH to see.
Your kitten sounds like one of my dogs. My big Lab/Gr Dane has favorite flavors in his food. He picks out the nuggets he doesn't like and spits them out on the floor all around his bowl.
I have a dog like that, too. If I mix a bit of wet food into the dry, she gets the wet food off the dry pieces and then puts the dry ones on the floor.

Oh yeah. How do they manage to such even gravy off dry bits? Too funny!

My color scheme has change over the years from neutuals to color. My home makes me happy when ever I walk into my home. In a couple months a painter will change the current color scheme from gold and burgundy to red and turquoise. I have red chairs and red and turquoise accessories as well as white and a little green. I smile happily ever time I walk into my great room and can't wait for it to be painted to complete the look that I so desperately want to achieve.

Off white if you are talking about the walls, or could be called, I suppose, light tan. Appliances except the fridge are all black.

My kitchen walls are a very pale tan (color is called Macadamia, throughout my house). Floors and cabinets are natural cherry, counters and backsplash are a neutral colored granite, large & small appliances are stainless except the cooktop is black glass. Pendant light fixtures are a dark bronze and gold art glass. It's all open to an eating area which open to back yard/patio and family room.

I don't know if things have changed, but the French manufacturer used to make less than 20 a year? My former SO had a home in his native France and had a soft blue one. Gorgeous but way out of my price range for the model I wanted. cheers! On 4/4/2014 tansy said: What's the stove brand, Irsh? I'd like that copper. My DR table has a hammered copper top.
