SPOILER ALERT if you have not finished THE SECRET PLACE by TANA FRENCH don't read further.
Just finished this book. I am a big fan of this author. She absolutely aced the character development of these teenage girls. One of the reasons I love her so much.
I am wondering if I missed something. I found the last chapter weird. Was the purpose to show that Holly put the post on The Secret Place? Was that it? Will have to go back and see if I missed something. If that was it, it seems like a funny way to end the book to me. Can anyone enlighten me? TIA. LM

Finished James Patterson's 12th of Never. Very fast reading as always. This wasn't the best in the series by far.
Onto Beatriz Williams The Secret Life of Violet Grant. Loved her first book.

SAgal: I finished The House We Grew Up In and loved it!!! I doubt if I will ever read a book as interesting as this (I will for sure read more of hers) or one with such a memorable family as this one!! I found the ending satisfying and have bought this book (will read this again in a few years) to reread, it was that good. I think of 2014, this may be my favorite read!
I am now back to Iron House by John Hart.

If you are into mysteries with lots of twists and turns, Harlan Coben's new book, MISSING YOU fits the bill. The subplots are as intriguing as the main plot. The protagonist is a female NYPD detective on a search for her father's killer and a lost love. As the reader delves into the story, it's revealed that nothing is as she believes it to be. Would recommend if you are a mystery lover.

Lilysmom:
I just finished this book also. You are correct--the last chapter brings us full circle. You notice how the author went back and forth in time all through the story. In Chapter 1 we see Holly bring the card to the police; and in the final chapter we understand Holly's motivation in doing so.
I love this writer's books.

Just downloaded The All-Girl Filling Station's Last Reunion by Fannie Flagg. I haven't read one of her books in quite a while and am looking forward to it!

I didn't enjoy Die For Me by Cynthia Eden. The writing wasn't that great and the ending was predictable.
Now I'm starting Terrified by Kevin O'Brien.
