Finished "Naomi's Room" by Jonathan Aycliffe. Seriously scary, one of the better ghost stories I've read. Thank you, constant thunderstorms, for providing atmosphere, LOL.
Now I'm reading "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand, because I promised my aunt, the one who was widowed to whom I send my favorite books. She told me it's her favorite book ever and made me promise to read it. I know it's one of the bestselling nonfiction books of all time, and much beloved here and everywhere. I'm having trouble getting into it but I'm hopeful because where there's this much love for a book it has to be awesome.

Just finished Murder 101 by Faye Kellerman, not her best book sadly, and Personal by Lee Child which was enjoyable, but not a stellar read. Now, I'm reading The Eye of Heaven by Clive Cussler and Russell Blake. Clive Cussler books are usually quite formulaic, but I enjoy the adventure. It looks like this one has Vikings.

I had trouble at first, lori. I actually knew nothing about the book and once I have a book I never read the dust jacket for fear of spoiling the story. But I knew it was good so I kept going. Then, I stopped reading and went to the dust jacket and read that 'it's non-fiction'! I thought it was a novel. Well, I don't read much non fiction but I couldn't ignore all the accolades so I kept on, and got to really like this Louie guy, and then couldn't wait till he got into the service and then I couldn't put it down. Don't give up on it, please.

Unbroken is a wonderful story of resilience, courage in the face of adversity, and forgiveness. A beautiful story and a wonderful book. Stick with it, you won't be disappointed.
I can't wait for the movie.

I just found her as an author! I started with her first book Still Life and it was excellent. Now I notice she has a ling list of Inspector Gamache books and I'm excited to read them all.
Lainey, I do also thank you for this great monthly thread!

I did? I'm so glad! Now we have the movie to look forward to. And since Louie was on the set and close to Angelina while filming, I'd say it has to be '' the way it really was'', but who knows till we see it.
