Re: Were comic books ever a part of your youth?

Oh yes. I read the super heros, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Superman, Spider-Man, Bat Man, Archie, Richie Rich, and more. I liked everything with a happy ending. My parents encouraged me to read, and brought home books from the library every week. Every horse book you could imagine. I was also allowed comic books as a treat. My DF thought it would help me become a good reader if I read a lot - and it did. My DF was not a good reader in the early grades, however he became interested in reading from comics and improved. He eventually obtained a Masters Degree in Education.

No.  But, I had an uncle who was a comic book collector.  He had boxes and boxes of them ... and no one was allowed to touch them.

It wouldn't surprise me to learn that he still had them!

OMG! yes, they were, and my friends and I would trade back and forth. Those were the days.

@qualitygal. That s sooo spooky! Out of the blue, yesterday I remembered them and how they gave me such pleasure. My world was caving in then and they gave me an escape! MEMORIES, especially when they are good!

Not comic books but definitely movie magazines.  I just wish I had kept some.  They are probably a collector's item.

I remember a magazine with a vinyl record-maybe a 45rpm?  There may have been several others but this one I think had him burping.  Oh crikey!  Smiley Surprised
