I liked it better before, but I renewed to stay on track. I have lost 33 pounds, but it has taken over a year.

Congratulations @faeriemoon !!!
Do you now have to eat less or give up things you could have a couple of years ago?

@Perkup wrote:One thing hasn't changed enough. Oprah Winfrey is back with her zero interest commercials. She made it a point years ago to talk about the fact that she has a personal chef who makes all her meals for her. I'd be willing to bet he's still part of her WW plan. Who wouldn't lose weight with that plan? And BTW on the Rachel Ray show today she mentioned something about someone cooking for her again (unless my ears deceive me.)
I had honestly thought of joining for a while. I went years ago and reached my goal weight, got my pin, etc. But with Oprah as stheir spokesperson I don't think I want to play. I only want to lose about eight to ten pounds anyway and because I don't believe Oprah and her commercial remarks, I
think I'll wait it out for a while. And BTW I feel the same way about Kirstie Alley. I've ussed oth plans successfully and I wouldn't want the companies sto think I came back because of the spokespersonl. Give me a real spokesperson for a change and maybe I'll be back.
@Perkup...I felt the same way when I saw the new WW commercial with Oprah slinging spaghetti around in a pan. You know Oprah has 24/7 help for her spaghetti and everything else. I like Oprah but this is somewhat disingenuous to me. It just bugged me.

@Meowingkitty wrote:You can eat anything your want but you are punished for eating a cookie and I think that is a bunch of garbage. If I want a cookie I will eat a cookie but I will only count half the points. I know most of the people at the meetings don't like that aspect either. It's easy for one cookie to be a third of your daily points. They prefer you to focus on veggies, protein and fruits.

There it is! That's what I was trying to verbalize, lol. Thanks @Meowingkitty
I find that now I get hungry in the afternoon. I made a tall sandwich today out of a stack of veg and a little hummus. Hoping that will work.

I wonder Why?

No carbs, maybe?

@susan in California wrote:I have been a member for two years. I find the new program more difficult. Carbs are much more restrictive. But I might be in a minority. At the meetings, there are many people who prefer this plan.
As far as I know, there is still an online only program. If you decide to go to meetings instead, I would suggest trying out as many as are convenient for you
(if this is possible in your location).
As silly as this may sound, I found a group leader that suited me the most. I liked all the others, but this leader and the group members have become a part of my life now. My husband initially started with me to lose 15 lbs., and he dropped out of the meetings once that was accomplished.

Thanks @Susan in California ! Thanks for verifying that about carbs. I agree with you about the meetings, but I can't count on myself to be up to it on schedule, what with a daily battle with lupus.
I have no problem following a plan online, I did it two years ago, now I just have to find out what the plan is.
Does WW still give you an online way to keep track of your daily points, do you know?

@Noel7 I'd say you have to give up the things that you really like (or crave) because they have redistributed the points to the extent that it's not worth it to have a sweet or treat. Carbs of any kind have been assigned more points, so anything that helps you feel full is generally bad.

They changed the program because you couldn't lose weight on the old one. You can't lose weight and be happy about what you eat, pretty much.
If they say "eat what you want" that's feeding you "bologna."

@Perkup, I am really sick of Miss Oprah. She owns part of the WW company, maybe the whole thing so she is promoting her interests. I wish she would go away. She is certainly not the average woman trying to lose weight with her trainers and chefs so let's be real. However, the program has always been very good and gives you variety. I don't believe in plans that limit carbs, etc. I plan on joining the WW plan this year. ![]()

I've given up on WW for a number of reasons. Number one is Oprah. The cost is also a factor. When I divide cost per pound lost, it is staggering. I've also seen them become more and more commercial. More into selling than customers losing. I've read a few articles by dietitians who aren't too keen on WW either.
Im going to do Mayo Clinic diet.
Sigh...nothing is easy!
