Sipping coffee, I decided to check to see what the new WW plan is like.  All I got was a notice that I could join for three months for only $115, saving more than $40  Woman Surprised

Do they have the online only plan anymore?

What's the new (since a year ago) plan like, and do people like it?

Does anyone know?  Thanks.

Re: Weight Watcher Questions

The point value of different foods and daily point allowances have changed due to a different method of calculations. This program started just under a year ago if I recall correctly.

Thanks @reiki604  I've read that the new program is somehow more limiting.  I don't know what that means, but apparently they're not saying you can eat anything anymore.

Re: Weight Watcher Questions

You're welcome @Noel7. You still can eat anything but the points of things are higher so you tend to think it's not worth it to eat high point items that 'eat up' your daily allowance.

One thing hasn't changed enough.  Oprah Winfrey is back with her zero interest commercials.  She made it a point years ago to talk about the fact that she has a personal chef who makes all her meals for her. I'd be willing to bet he's still part of her WW plan. Who wouldn't lose weight with that plan?And BTW on the Rachel Ray show today she mentioned something about someone cooking for her again (unless my ears deceive me.)

I had honestly thought of joining for a while. I went years ago and reached my goal weight, got  my pin, etc.  But with Oprah as their spokesperson I don't think I want to play.  I only want to lose about eight to ten pounds anyway and because I don't believe Oprah and her commercial remarks, I

think I'll wait it out for a while.  BTW I feel the same way about Kirstie Alley.  I've used other plans successfully and I wouldn't want the companies to think I came back because of the spokespersonl. Give me a real spokesperson for a change and maybe I'll be back.

Yes; this is true.

I liked it better before, but I renewed to stay on track.  I have lost 33 pounds, but it has taken over a year.

You can eat anything your want but you are punished for eating a cookie and I think that is a bunch of garbage. If I want a cookie I will eat a cookie but I will only count half the points. I know most of the people at the meetings don't like that aspect either. It's easy for one cookie to be a third of your daily points. They prefer you to focus on veggies, protein and fruits.

Re: Weight Watcher Questions

@Noel7

I have been a member for two years.  I find the new program more difficult.  Carbs are much more restrictive.  But I might be in a minority.  At the meetings, there are many people who prefer this plan.

As far as I know, there is still an online only program.  If you decide to go to meetings instead, I would suggest trying out as many as are convenient for you

(if this is possible in your location).

As silly as this may sound, I found a group leader that suited me the most.  I liked all the others, but this leader and the group members have become a part of my life now.  My husband initially started with me to lose 15 lbs., and he dropped out of the meetings once that was accomplished.

@Perkup

I feel a lot like you do.  I have nothing against Oprah, but you're right, if we had a chef in the house, it would be a snap.

I gain almost every Christmas and I like to try the latest from WW when I do. The more tips, the better.
