The song Sunrise, Sunset from Fiddler On The Roof would be beautiful.  There are many covers on YouTube.

My son is getting married in July, and I have been agonizing over a song for he and I to dance to also.  He wants me to choose the song.  It's difficult because a lot of slow songs seem to be geared more towards couples and don't seem appropriate to me for a mother/son dance. 

I few suggestions mentioned here have already been taken at a few weddings we've been to recently.  One song I really like is Rod Stewart's "Forever Young" as it was played at my son's 5th grade graduation ceremony (I bawled like a baby)...hopefully, if we go with that, I won't cry my eyes out again! 

But then, I remembered Kenny Roger's song, "You Decorated My Life"...I listened to it on You Tube and the lyrics, sentiment, and music is perfect!  My son really has decorated my life, so appropriate!   So of course, now I'm torn between these two songs but am kind of leaning towards the Kenny Rogers one as the Rod Stewart one is a little faster paced.

Shoekitty said, I played that somg at my Dads funeral.  It is a wonderful song about life!  It is great for a wedding as well. To me, only Louis can sing ot.  Anyone else just doesnt do it justice.  Jmho

I was at a wedding a few years back. The father of the bride was a professional singer and sang How do you Solve a Problem like Maria as she came down the aisle and when the bride and groom were lighting the candles he sang Sunrise,Sunset. 

My fav is: We've Only just Begun.

White Lace and promises,a kiss for luck and we're on our way.
