Almost one year, I have batted my brain out for wedding song dance suggestions to dance the mom and son dance (with my son of course). I am leaning toward My Wish by Rascal Flatts even though I'm not really a country fan, I am more of a Beatles fan. But that My Wish seems to fit that I'm wishing him/them happiness.
(What do you think?)
I don't want to use In My Life by the Beatles because it says I love you more and I have a daughter too and plus I happen to know my granddaughter wants to use that song one day. (The Beatles fan she is). Even though people are saying use it. And then I was going to use the Boy song by Lennon but in the beginning it mentions your dad and I am not married to my kids dad (I am remarried) so that songs out
(Yes i really take songs literally lol). I know it isn't this hard!
Well anyway, I'm finding out lately that I cant make up my mind over anything. I just finally got my outfit to wear to the wedding and still need dressy shoes or sandals and a clutch. I went with a pants suit after trying on numerous (12) dresses. I just feel best in slacks and the top is everything, shaped like a poncho on a an angle and all sparkly. The top to the pant suit is just everything, very dressy, and the slacks are gorgeous (My daughter and oldest granddaughter the fashionistas even approve! lol)
So anyway, if anyone has suggestions of a mom/son dance song, please post because I now have weeks to let them know (they get married in May but need info by end of Mar).
And PS I was (pre back problems) much better at fast dancing than slow. I used to go clubbing! Plus I don't like to be on display in the middle of a room full of people so this dance has me a bit nervous (and I was asked to say a line of scripture at the wedding too, I was leery but I am doing it for my son and his fiance' because I am blessed that they asked me and her mom to do this!)
I will check back tomorrow if anyone posted.

Bob dylan wrote a song to his son years ago I love. Of course Bob Dylan is my favorite singer but the song , FOREVER YOUNG has been done by dozens of artists. From Joan Baez, to Bette Midler, a few country western singers, and many others. The lyrics make me happy sad. Lol. It is is full of wishes, good thoughts and most of all hope your child will grow up to righteous, strong, healthy, a good person, and happy and find love.
which it seems your son has. The words can music a
can be found online. Maybe go to youtube and listen to a few artists song it.

I struggled terribly when my son was getting married. I didn’t want the usual songs; I wanted something special. My daughter recommended Blessed by Elton John. I found it on YouTube and knew it was the one.

@Shorty2U Out of the Blue by The Band, Robbie Robertson singing. My favorite of all time. Hera it here:

Enjoy!
Edit: I just reread and see it’s a Mom - Son dance so this won’t work, but it’s a fab song for bride and groom and well worth a listen.

I'm in the same boat. We have a son getting married in June. DH and I were asked to come up with a list of songs we'd like them to consider for the reception. I'm currently looking for the mom & son dance song and am always a sobbing mess! So far, at the top of my list are:
A Parent's Prayer - Steven Curtis Chapman
My Wish - Rascal Flatts
The Man You've Become - No Limitz
Find Your Wings - Mark Harris
