Times of your life, Paul Anka....I danced with my dad to this many years ago, it’s kind of corny, but it still brings tears to my eyes when I hear it😍

Re: Wedding song suggestions?

My son got married almost five years ago.  His bride chose the mother/son dance song - My Biggest Fan by Backstreet Boys.  Great lyrics and fit our mother/son relationship perfectly.   I get choked up just thinkin' about it!

Congratulations! My oldest son married three years ago. I also take songs literally...lol! I wanted one with lyrics that were meaningful to us. I also didn't want one of the ones that I heard at most every wedding. I ended up choosing "A song for my son", by Mikki Viereck. I love the lyrics. Beautiful song and just right for my first born.

here's a mom and son dancing to it(not me - my son wouldn't practice...lol!)

Good luck and Best Wishes.

Thank you, @Starpolisher.  I'm a sappy mess right now.  Very beautiful.

Hi @Shorty2U

Congrats on the upcoming wedding.  I've not read through the suggestions, so I apologize if some of the songs have  been suggested already.  My gf just went through this selection process . Here is her list.

Humble and Kind, Tim McGraw

My Wish, Rascal Flatts

@Shorty2U: Congrats to you, mama and to the happy couple! I was in your shoes as MOG last summer.

Like you, I took choice of our mother/son dance song seriously. DS and I are both professional musiciansm as is the bride. He gave me choices but retained final approval, LOL!

In My Life was a top contender, but I did not think I could get through it dry-eyed. The bride and her father chose the Rascall Flatts song. No country for me.

In the end I/ we chose: I Just Can't Stop Loving You by Michael Jackson because we are both fans of his music, I liked the tempo, beautiful ballad, it was neither too short or too long and it was on the band's play list.

Enjoy!

My vote, as well.  My son and I danced to this at his wedding some twenty years ago.  I cry every time I hear this song.  Part of the wonderful world it foretold was our two wonderful grandchildren and his wife as such a wonderful addition to our family.

To me, this is perfect!  It is a beautiful song, a classic, and NOT some tear jerker song implying that the MOG is not happy about her baby getting married.  Please start off on a positive happy note welcoming the marriage.  It is the best gift you can give.

Re: Wedding song suggestions?

DS is getting married soon and has chosen all of the music for the reception.  He is trying to surprise me,  but I'm afraid I will be a blubbering mess when the dance happens.  He has great taste, so I will trust him.
