Weather has always been undpredictable.  My Dad always said "two things you can't predict or change ... a woman's mind and the weather."

Kachina624..............yes we have the potential for a foot of snow this Sunday.  Bone chilling single digit temperatures.  Our house is old and we have to use electric heaters to hold 70 degrees.  Hurricane Ida wiped out the heating system so we got new but there's drafts and even now as I type this I it's only 9 degrees but going up to 30 (I hope) today.  Yeah, I'm worried.

The updated models for the NY Metro region this morning now show 12-16 inches.

One thing is certain;  the temperatures will be low enough to support all snow.

We were supposed to be traveling out of town this weekend for a COL where DH was asked to officiate over a portion of it.  We feel awful but with all the dangerous temperatures and snow that's predicted, sadly it's more prudent for us to stay home. 💔

Our high two days ago was 6 with windchill of -20.

We are temps of -10 to -5 on Friday and Saturday with -30 to -45 windchill.

I can put on more clothes and use a space heater. I just do not like ice and snow.

Midwest.

We've added 2 more feeders to the feeding stations, stocked with meat, seeds and nuts. And the heated water stations are out as well as on the covered patio. I always feel so badly for the critters-last night I was surprised to see the possum out scouting the patio. He settled in on the heated mat and enjoyed some dinner and a drink. Poor lil baby.

I'm in the Midlands of South Carolina and we are predicted to get rain/sleet/freezing rain Saturday & Sunday. We are overdue for an "ice storm" by a few years now.

I'm just thankful we were able to install a generator a couple years ago. We don't need it often, but it turned out to be a major blessing for us and a couple of our neighbors when we were hit by Hurricane Helene! We live in a rural area with lots of trees, and if we get a lot of ice there will be trees/branches on the power lines.

Praying for safety for everyone in harm's way!

Brand new model updates now colliding in agreement,  with 15-17 inches of snow in NYC possible.   Still too early for local meteorologists to call, as the snow/freezing rain line can still shift.

Weather here in western WA is glorious and has been for the last week now. Cold /foggy at night,  but sunny during the day. We should be unindated with rain this time of year--had that in Dec  and had horrible flooding. And now, the snow pak in the mountains in melting which is not good. Saw trees budding and even the birds are out singing away early in the a.m. Not good!!!
