@Alison Wonderland wrote:That's awful! I'm sorry to hear it's happened to you and seems to be happening all over.
I've been using grocery delivery for a few years now and haven't had any issues, but I think that they've had to hire a lot more people, probably with fewer checks in place and that their shoppers are also feeling unsafe and taken advantage - some are striking this week. Not that any of that excuses what happened, but I think the stress is contributing to poor choices.
I just placed an order with Shipt and will check extra carefully when it arrives! I used Amazon, Instacart, and my direct store app a lot before all this and since the lockdown, I've been using Shipt more and have better luck with Shipt. I haven't been able to get an Amazon Prime Now delivery time since March 12.
From the article I read...it sounds like the workers complaining are mostly from Amazon....Maybe thats why Amazon Fresh customers cant get deliveries. Some Target workers are also striking.... For the most part Instacart Workers complaints were resolved a month ago and most are now getting protective equipment through the company.....thats why its only SOME Instacart workers are striking....

I have been using Instacart for a few months now. I was worried about the quality of produce I would get so I am using a high end local market that you could not find any bad produce if you tried (of course you pay for that) and Costco. You can choose your replacement if an item is unavailable or tell them not to substitute. I get most everything I order. One time they were out of eggs. I get an order every week and once I figured out a system it works perfectly. I have a delivery coming today.

I've used instacart delivery three times now through Publix. First time I had no idea that I was supposed to be following the personal shopper through the shopping app. A few items were out of stock but she did a nice job with everything else. The last two times went smoothly. It's nice to be notified when the shopping begins and then to answer any replacement questions that might pop up. All three deliveries have been on time.
I'm grateful for this service but never dreamed grocery shopping would take so much thought!

We live too far out for grocery delivery and the couple of times I tried to order for pickup there were just too many barriers. Week wait for pickup, most things not in stock, etc.
So for the foreseeable future, we will be having to run to the grocery for needed things, Even that isn't filling everyone's needs all the time, but at least when you leave the store you know what you do and don't have, and have the option to stop at other stores to complete your needs.

@Mominohio, I'm going to try to limit my visits to one supermarket if at all possible. I have become fairly adjusted to the fact that there may be some things I might not be able to get. It helps that we are very well stocked on paper goods.
I would really rather stay home, but that just didn't work out. Everything was fine with the one exception that we had no idea the reason for the incorrect charges.

@suzyQ3, I am so sorry to hear this since I know you don't really want to go out to the grocery. Does your store have early hours set aside for those that are older or have underlying conditions?

I've also posted previously I could never get a delivery or pick-up time from any store in my area. And with all the things the store is out of, I don't want to get something delivered or pick it up only to find out I need to shop anyhow for things they didn't have.
As an aside, my sister called me earlier. She went to the store last night and there was no meat at all. None. There were no frozen vegetables, no rice, no pasta, no cans of soup.
Then I had a friend tell me she went to Sam's club yesterday and bought tons of meat and those freezer sealer bag contraptions since she heard there would be a meat shortage. I told her she just contributed to it.

@pitdakota, Hi. Yes, every grocery in our area has senior hours.

@suzyQ3, maybe the store will be less crowded then. So maybe that will help. Will be sending good thoughts your way ![]()
