I live in New York City and we could use the rain. I don't like though when it pours and we get street flooding I have a basement that often floods and every bad rainstorm makes me nervous. I am in need of a new sump pump but I have other bills I need to take care of first, so the pump will have to wait.

Just a follow-up of my post on my daughter's visits always bringing rain...within a moment of getting into the car to go to the Farmers' Market, the heavens exploded and we got the heaviest rain in months. It has eased up but more is on tap for tomorrow. My daughter's record remains intact.

Please send some rain our way!! In the Southwest, we are way below our yearly level of rainfall! For the month of July, we are under an inch and this is our monsoon month!!

I'm also in southern California - Oxnard. It's 74 degrees now (4:30 PM) - but feels like 90 as the humidity is very high. Praying for RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! Send it to us.

we are under a flood warning tonight. boy have we had some heavy rain this evening. if any of you are familiar with the ellicott city area of maryland, they have had some major flooding.....4 inches of rain in a short period of time. i dont know how much we got, but i am sure it was around 2 inches at least.

ellicott city, maryland had over six inches of rain in less than three hours.....lots of damage done last night.
