When we've had spurts of sunshine all the paper wasps came out....and one tried to build a nest right over my patio door.....
No other critters yet......but with our mild winter this year I'm sure we will see lots before too long.... Hopefully the little lizards will take care of them...

Every year in April, like clockwork, ants appear in my kitchen. It seems especially bad after a wet winter, though this winter we had no snow, the wet ground somehow wakes them up and floats them to the surface and into the house. I have to purchase Terro Liquid Ant Baits for in the house to get control of the situation. After that, they're gone until the following April!

Love the battery-operated fly swatter....get the one powered by the larger battery ( C or D ?....away from home so I can't check ). It looks like a tennis racket and costs about $5-6 @ Harbor Freight.
No chasing, smashing, blood smears, etc. Just place near or above the fly, bee, or stink bug and when it flies into the grid, it is a goner.

We too in the northeast have been swamped by ladybugs. Normally get them for a time in the spring but with this mild winter we've had them all winter long! At the point where I am just vacumning them all up off my picture window once a week. It's crazy, we live in a condo and they will spray late March or early April for insects but until then it'll be a challenge.

I am always checking the floor and curtains for wasps as that is where they are the most.
Anytime Petunia, the kitten, stares at the floor we are there. She has been lucky so far. Last night she spied a ladybug high up on the wall. We thought she was going to try and jump for it. In her mind she's part leopard.

@ They are great as long as you don't grap the tennis rachet part by mistake. It scared me half to death. It will zap you.

The paper wasp arent aggressive like other bees, hornets, or other wasps....they dont have stingers and dont attack unless you bother their nest....if you leave them alone, they will leave you alone...
