For years in the early spring we get ladybugs and a few wasps. They are only around for a month or so and then poof, they are gone.  It's only Febuary but with the warm temps they are here already.  The wasps are very slow and easy to kill.

We have to watch our new kitten as she has tried to make friends if she sees a wasp on the floor. Good way to get a painful swollen nose.

Anyone else have critters already?  I know they won't be here long but geez, it's early for this.

We had a ton of ladybugs late fall.  We are still finding their dead bodies all over the house.

Re: We Have Ladybugs and Wasps.

I guess with the somewhat milder weather things are happening earlier.  I haven't seen any wasps or ladybugs yet but yes, keep the kitty away!!!

I don't know what March will bring but January and February were not real winter months in that we didn't have snow or ice and we did have many mild days.

I just hope summer isn't very hot and humid, for me that is the weather which I dislike the most.

I keep finding a stink bug or two whenever the weather gets above freezing.

The stink bugs, ants, big black flies, and Japanese beetles are alive and well. We are living in the woods in a log house so we expect this when the Winter was so warm this year. Hopefully, the Carpenter bees will emerge soon and we can get on with exterminating them before they start drilling new holes in our house.

Re: We Have Ladybugs and Wasps.

We have had a major.....major.... infestation of Box elder bugs.  They're harmless, but we had a gazillion of them.  And that is being conservative.   Out came the exterminator who sprayed a ton outside and then a tree expert to see if he could find where they're coming from (he couldn't).

So far so good. I've only seen a couple in the house since he sprayed.

In the spring and early summer we get wasps in the house. Hate them.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Yes, I've noticed moths at the door.

Re: We Have Ladybugs and Wasps.

already have had our bug men out doing their business. Every 3 months they come out and do their thing. We are going into at least a week of very cold weather (below normal temps) for several days which may kill off the pesky critters that are starting to open their sweet little eyes.

Re: We Have Ladybugs and Wasps.

I have had pantry moths and I ordered special strips with pheromones to attract them and then the males stick to the surface.  They can come in boxes of rice, cereal, etc.  Awful experience.  Never had them before.
