we go to a mennorah lightin every year at our neighbor's and i appreciate your explaining to me the different spellings and pronunciations.  i would like to know a little of what i'm experiencing with my neighbors' during this holiday time.

Thank you, I will gladly accept the happy Hanukkah  wishes although as a Christian I do not celebrate.  One can never have too many good wishes on their side.

I've been to many Chanukah dinner celebrations, the spelling I just used is perfectly acceptable.  I use that one because it's easier

In a way, yes.  And some should keep in mind that Jesus was an observant Jew. 

And that the first Chanukah was observed in 138 BCE, no doubt it was observed by Jesus.

There is certainly no reason for any Christian to feel uncomfortable hearing or reading any good wishes for Chanukah.

Yes Happy Hannakah to all who observe.  I agree the extra good wishes are a good thing.  And how nice of our president to bless us all!  I'll take it!

Last night while I was trying to go to sleep, I was watching the PBS World channel.  It was very interesting and very well presented.  It had a lot of what can happen in a home where one is a Christian and the other a Jew. 

I have know several couples that were of both beliefs and were very strong in their religion.  And, they have been happily married for many years. 

Think this was a good time for them to present this program.

I have a very mixed extended family.  Most are Jewish, my mother and her family were Irish Catholic, I went to mass with her as a child, many of my in-laws are Mormon, and several of our friends are Buddhist. 

My father's side are generations of Protestant ministers, I follow in their steps, grateful for the diversity in my life.
