EXCELLENT reply!
Thank you.

I saw the opening comments just before it was pulled, and no, I didn't hit report.
But it was so obvious that it was meant to be argumentative, that was never the purpose of the other thread.

One thread was beautiful, positive & uplifting.
The other thread was negative & 'baiting'.
Maybe we all need to look inward & see why a negative thread would even be written at all....especially during this beautiful time of the year.

Yes, it was angry and hostile.

And I wasn't referring to anyone here.. just the general consensus. Sorry Wayne... Im sure this will get deleted too but it seems QVC pushes hmm objects of faith on customers.

Your wording was angry from the start.

Two words & punctuation.
That was the tipping point.
If they weren't there, it probably would've stood for a while as a discussion.
Once emotion is interjected, the thread is pulled.
In this case, it was the original post.
Moderators look for emotional tone.

@ladyroxanne wrote:why is a christmas thread moved and not a hannakkuh. sorry if this is misspelled and i mean no offense to anyone. just curious.
thank you for responding.
@ladyroxanne Any spelling of Hanukkah or Chanukkah, that correctly conveys this Hebrew word phonetically is, in my opinion, correct since the Hebrew language uses completely different symbols for letters than the English language does.

While I agree with your reasoning, the wording for the censure was "Religious."

thank you pearley. i struggle with this word and i guess no wonder. spellcheck was no help. i appreciate your explanation and happy hanakkuh to you as well!

It never bodes well for a thread if it starts out using "Controversy" in its title. OY!

I saw the Hanukkah thread. Didn't see the Christmas thread, but I've seen enough of other threads on Christmas to know how they usually end. And most of the time, the argument is over something that is imagined and not actual.

@ladyroxanne You are very welcome, and thanks for your well wishes. I'm so secular that I didn't know Hanukkah/Chanukkah (LOL) starts so early this year until I read it here on the board. Clearly, I'm nonobservant.
FYI - the two spellings I have above I wrote purposely to illustrate for you that while the former seems to be the more accepted one nowadays in English, the "Ch" beginning is an attempt to capture the very gutteral "H" sound made in Hebrew, coming from way in the back of the throat. The "H" sound is pronounced almost as if you are clearing your throat.
Hence the Jewish bread Challah, pronounced Hallah, is spelled with a "Ch".
