Last night before going to bed I bought groceries from Wal-Mart and scheduled my pick up time between 1-2. I drove up to their side door, let them know I was there and my grocery order was placed in my car, How easy is that? One more thing WM has a $35 minimum and no service charge.
I need more info regarding the ‘going to bed’ &
‘pick up time between 1-2’. Is that 1-2AM?
Or do you go to bed in the afternoon? So confused. 🙃
So sorry @sidsmom , it was pm but I could have picked my order up earlier. I made my order about 11 pm last night and chose the window of between 1-2 pm.

I have the cashier check me out. I am leery that I do it because of mistakes. If the self check isnot busy the workers are nice and help people like me.

@Hooty wrote:Hello - welcome to the 21st Century - most the Walmarts in our area are doing the 'curb-side pick-up' and they do lots of business in my area! I am sure they are making room for this, in the stores and they are not getting rid of people they are adding people for these jobs! I think it is great for working mothers with children, I know several that use it an love it!
Just about everyone in the WM stores are registered trained so when not need to ring they work on the floor performing other tasks. And the people who fill the orders are doing a fantastic job.

@CherryHugs I am noticing at least less lanes open. I like self check out. It's even fast when buying wine.

I have to shop the closest unless I want to walk down the block to Target. Albertsons moved out last year and Sprouts are fixing to move in but I think more expensive. Albertson had where they took in my bottles and cans for money fomr another company and I miss that.

Huh? All business eliminate jobs and positions that are no longer needed, not just Walmart.
As technology advances, human hands-on is no longer required. There are thousands of jobs that everyday people held 20 years ago that no longer exist.

I'm 78 yrs young and have been shopping at Costco, Walmart, Kohls, and dept. stores for many many years. I always try on clothing to be sure they fit. I don't think I've returned more than 25 items total - in 60 years.

I refuse to check out my own items I'm purchasing. I will just stand in line.
If I wanted to be a cashier, I would apply for a job.
