My local Walmart has a ‘pickup tower’.

This is way over my purchase needs, but has anyone used this?

@sidsmom ,

I use this at least two or more times a month. Best thing ever!

@SilleeMee

Cool!

So your entire order shoots up from the back?

Reminds me of the bank drive-thru tubes!

I do as little business as possible with WM. It’s probably been a year since I’ve been in the store.

@sidsmom ,

I asked about that and was told there are boxes stacked inside the tower. When you go to pick up your order there's a robotic thing inside that reads barcodes and pulls it from the stack and places the box on a short conveyor belt that brings it to the front where you pick it up through a window. But what I want to know is how those boxes get stacked inside the tower to begin with??!! Smiley SurprisedAmazing.

I really try NOT to go to  our local Walmart. I usually go once a year to stock up on salsa and no salt.  That is all I buy.

A month ago all in  the same day..,

There  was a shooting in the parking lot...a 16 year old boy shot to death, the shooter got away, never caught.

That same day a CRAZY PERSON started a fire in a shopping cart in the store........and the entire store was closed  from the water damage from the sprinklers going off.... for three days.

THAT IS WHY I do not shop at Walmart.  Crazy people shop there😜😳😬

I bought some clothing and received today. It states on my order that I  can return by May 27th. I think this is a generous return policy. Sam's Club has eliminated many cashiers in favor of self checkout. I think they are trying to save money.

I definitely would use self checkout if I was buying just a few things at Walmart or any other retailer that had self checkout.  I don't see a down side to it, unless you like standing in long checkout lines and I suppose some people do.  I don't use it at Walmart because I only go there 3 or 4 times an year and I buy a lot of things.

Last evening after work, I stopped at the store to buy three things for dinner and used the self checkout. It was at Stop and Shop which has extremely easy registers to use.

Last night before going to bed I bought groceries from Wal-Mart and scheduled my pick up time between 1-2.  I drove up to their side door, let them know I was there and my grocery order was placed in my car, How easy is that? One more thing WM has a $35 minimum and no service charge. Smiley Happy

@JaneMarple

I need more info regarding the ‘going to bed’ &

‘pick up time between 1-2’.  Is that 1-2AM?

 Or do you go to bed in the afternoon?  So confused. 🙃

Hello - welcome to the 21st Century - most the Walmarts in our area are doing the 'curb-side pick-up' and they do lots of business in my area!  I am sure they are making room for this, in the stores and they are not getting rid of people they are adding people for these jobs!  I think it is great for working mothers with children, I know several that use it an love it!
